Instructions
Break up, or cube, tofu into small chunks and add to dry, nonstick fry pan.
Cook on medium-low. Add the seasonings you want to use. Depending on the meal you can use any seasoning you want.A typical all-purpose seasoning for us would be salt, pepper, and garlic powder, all to taste.
Cook tofu until browned evenly on all sides. Add the optional onion at the end.
Notes
One block of tofu should make about 4 servings. We use cast iron pans, but any nonstick will work. We have made Slo-n-Lo in a copper pan, and it worked fine. Work with what you have, but replace your old, crusty pans with better one at a time as you can. Remember to always use an appropriate tool with your pan: no metal on teflon pans! That's just askin' for trouble! Slo-n-Lo is best thought of as a starter ingredient. You can use it in place of anything that calls for chicken; it works especially well for teriyaki, sweet & sour, taco filling, or even just by itself. Just like chicken, you'll need to season it according to the dish.
